Jason Russell, the co-founder of Invisible Children was hospitalized in San Diego, California, after he was caught semi-naked running and screaming at traffic. Jason Russell narrated the Kony 2012 campaign video which went viral on the internet last week.
According to police, Jason Russell had been detained and taken to a medical facility. Check out the Video below…
In a statement, Invisible Children head Ben Keesey said:
“severe emotional toll†had led to an “unfortunate incidentâ€.
The statement said Jason Russell had been hospitalized on Thursday “suffering from exhaustion, dehydration, and malnutritionâ€.
San Diego police spokeswoman Andra Brown said:
“Officers responded to a radio call to check the welfare of an individual who was said to be running in the street, interfering with traffic, screaming.â€
Andra Brown added that after assessing his condition, officers had decided to take him to a medical facility for treatment.

His reps and wife, Danica Russell, insist his odd behavior was from “extreme exhaustion and dehydration,” and not stemming from alcohol or drug abuse.
Mrs. Russell’s statement read: “Let us say up front that Jason has never had a substance abuse or drinking problem, and this episode wasn’t caused by either of those things. But yes, he did some irrational things brought on by extreme exhaustion and dehydration.”
There are reportedly no current plans to charge Mr. Russell with any crimes.
