Former producer Chauncey Mahan planned extortion plot over lost recordings worth at least $15 million!

 

 

Chauncey Mahan was a former producer for Jay-Z from 1998-2002.  He was questioned by the cops on Friday after being found with the master recordings in a California storage unit. These master recordings are valued between $15 and $20 million! Mahan claims he reached out to Jay-Z’s  label and affiliations to return the recordings, but he was brushed off. Chauncey states”he put the recordings in storage so that they would be in a safe place; because back then Jay was irresponsible”  Chauncey is trying to “sell Back” the recordings for a $100,000 storage fee!  Although, Mahan was in possession of the recordings he has not yet been charged.
