Jay Z is facing a lawsuit over his 2009 hit “Run This Town.”  According to the “New York Daily News,” the record label Tuf America is suing Jay and his Roc-A-Fella Records for copyright infringement.  Tuf America says the rapper illegally sampled the 1969 Eddie Bo song “Hook and Sling.”  The lawsuit — which was filed in Manhattan federal court this week — claims Jay’s song — which features Kanye West and Rihanna — samples Bo’s track numerous times.  Take a listen to the song below and see if you can hear the sample in question.

This isn’t the first time Tuf America has gone after Roc-A-Fella Records for allegedly using “Hook and Sling” without permission.  Allhiphop.com reports that Tuf America previously went after Jay’s label for sampling the song on Kanye West’s tracks “Who Will Survive in America?” and “Lost in the World” from his 2010 album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”
