Jennifer Hudsonis the latest Celeb to be on the cover of American Way, the magazine of American Airlines. The article titled “Rising Up” chronicles Jennifer journey from a little girl singing in church with her Grandmother on Chicago’s south side, to her Oscar and Grammy winning stardom. Jennifer sits down to talk about her upcoming role in the movie biopic ‘Winnie’ and her highly anticipated sophomore album ‘I Remember Me’ which hits stores March 22nd.

Jennifer’s role as Winnie Mandela which partly inspired her dramatic weight loss is, according to Jennifer a serious role here’s more of what she had to say:

“It’s definitely my biggest role yet, and it’s serious,” Hudson says. “People know Winnie, but a lot of people don’t know her struggle. You know what Nelson Mandela went through and what he’s done, but when you see Winnie’s story, it’s very powerful.”

When it comes to her album she switches from serious to excited and Jennifer wants fans to enjoy it.

“I do want this album to feel good — I want people to feel happy when they hear it,”

Jennifer and her talent is loved and admired world wide and her manager, Damien Smith, summed it up best:

“She has the soul of Aretha Franklin, the power of Whitney Houston and the class of Barbra Streisand. “I’ve seen her sing for Neil Diamond. I’ve seen her sing with Barry Manilow, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin — and she delivers it. There’s no one like that nowadays who can appeal to so many different people. She’s one of a kind.”
