Jerry Clark Foundation and Dekalb County Parks & Recreation Host the “2009 Summer Youth Football Camp”
The Jerry Clark Foundation and Dekalb County Parks & Recreation hosted a free youth football camp for boys ages 7 to 14 at Hallford Stadium located on the campus of Georgia Perimeter College. Over 150 campers participated in the one-day camp where they learned basic football skills and fundamentals from athletes in the National Football League and professional trainers.
Seattle Seahawks’ cornerback/safety Deon Grant, Pittsburgh Steelers’ linebacker Keyaron Fox, and Dallas Cowboys’ running back Tashard Choice and safety Patrick Watkins were all in attendance.
“It brought me great joy to see the glow in the eyes of these young men. The excitement of meeting NFL players and working with them hands-on was a surreal experience for them,” states Jerry Clark, Founder of the Jerry Clark Foundation.
Sponsors for the “2009 Summer Youth Football Camp” included: Dekalb County, McDonald’s, Powerade, Energy Fitness, The Brand Banking Company, Collective Renaissance Guild, Pulse Entertainment Group, and Georgia Team Raiders.
The Jerry Clark Foundation was founded with the intent to give back to the community via academics and athletics. The goal of the foundation is to create individuals that will be assets to society while stressing high academic achievement and helping our youth avoid potential pitfalls such as dropping out of school, and drug and alcohol abuse. The Jerry Clark Foundation will host several events throughout the year as well as continue partnering with organizations to increase its community outreach.
