Sure you’ve heard by now that Kanye West just may run for President of these United States in 2020. Some of the initial buzz critically dismisses him…but the encourager in me says, “You can be anything you want to be” including the President of the United States. With that said, to be taken seriously consider the following:

• Your “platform” will be key. Trump’s success so far is because his platform centers on illegal immigration. As an example, Kanye could possibly center his platform on “All Lives Matter.” This will draw much attention, because the bottom line is, it’s inclusive!
  • For instance, this platform can include the lives of those incarcerated. This could ultimately lead to serious prison reform. He can focus on legislation that promotes the time fitting the crime and concentrate on synchronizing laws from state to state. He can take this further and reform the background check laws that prohibit gainful employment because of felonies committed years ago. The point being, that meaningful legislation that citizens can connect with can give him a voice that will be heard! This type of agenda will hit home for many families. If he rallies’ around these REAL types of issues people will listen and his campaign will certainly gather momentum.

• Next, you MUST surround yourself around the right people. Kanye would need to put the right people in the right positions that will ultimately make him look good. He needs to identify his deficiencies and hire experts in those areas. If Ronald Reagan could run for president and win, why can’t Kanye West? It is essential that Americans feel confident in his ability to assemble the best team possible to lead this Nation. He would definitely need to build this confidence, so the selection of his exploratory committee is crucial. Assembling such a committee as his team is the first step towards building confidence in his campaign. This is very doable!

• Finally, you need to be sure and tie any loose ends you may have. Admit any mistakes. Obama is respected and has conducted himself respectfully. Had he not, he would’ve been exposed by now. Kanye needs to act offensively and not defensively moving forward. American people can accept honesty and forgive. There is absolutely no room for scandal. If need be, lay everything out on the table and address any issues head on.

As time progresses… A campaign for Kanye West as President could really materialize if he actually puts actions behind his words. Who knows what the future holds! ~ Doc Mel
