According to recent reports by TMZ, a mysterious buyer has been trying to get their hands on the rights to the Ray J/Kim Kardashian sextape, which undoubtably made her famous. The buyer, who has gone unnamed, hired a laywer in Tennessee to contact to purchase the rights to the ‘Kim Kardashian Sex Tape.’ They want all of the raw footage, unused footage and outtakes that never made it to video. They want anything “that involves Ms. Kardashian.”

While the co-star of the sex tape was never mentioned, Ray J wants a piece of the action too. The video is worth $30 million according to Steve Hirsch, the owner of

Ray J’s lawyer sent out a letter to Mr. Hirsch saying that Ray J has a partial copyright ownership in the video and “any attempts to transfer the copyright outside of these parameters wil result in filing a motion with the courts to seek an injunction of any sale until Ray J’s rights are protected.”

The video catapulted Kim Kardashian to success, while Ray J was hot. I’m sure the video has helped him out in the fame department since Kim became mainstream as well, but lawyers for Ray J say, “my client rarely has a conversation wth industry professionals where the Tape has not been mentioned or questioned…no amount of money can relieve him from this nightmare.”

What do you think? Does Ray J deserve money? Can he and Kim really be made at the consequences of making a sex tape by their own free will? What do you think?
