(9/27/2010) The grandfather of Lady Gaga died this weekend. Joseph Germanotta passed away on Friday at the age of 88. The 24-year-old’s grandpa died just two days after she visited him at his nursing home in New Jersey with her mother and boyfriend, Luc Carl. Back in May, Gaga was performing a date on her Monster Ball tour in Nottingham when she told the 7,000 fans that had packed the Trent FM Arena that her granddad was sick.

The performer was dressed in a white bra and thong as she dedicated the song Brown Eyes to her grandfather. She said: “If we all sing loud enough, maybe he can hear us!”

The star then had to pause halfway through to wipe away tears as she appeared to get emotional. Moment of silence for the eclectic singer….now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
