The subject came up as she was discussing a song off from “ARTpop” album called “Swine,” which she says was inspired by the rape. Gaga says the pain of the incident “hit [her] so hard” about four years later, because she “wasn’t even willing to admit that anything had even happened” at the time. In hindsight, she says she regrets not telling anybody about it. As for the man she claims to be her rapist, Gaga describes him as “20 years older than [her]” and even reveals that she once ran into him in public years later and was “paralyzed by fear.”
The 28-year-old says she didn’t go public about her rape because didn’t “want to be defined by it.” She adds “all the things that I’ve made out of my strife — I did that.”
