Lauryn Hill Failed To Pay $446K In Taxes To NJ

It looks like Lauryn Hill’s tax problems are getting worse. According to TMZ, the state of New Jersey claims the singer failed to pay more than 446-thousand dollars in taxes — and that’s on top of the one-point-eight-million-dollars she reportedly owes the federal government.

The New Jersey court entered a civil judgement against Hill back in June, about a week after she was charged with failing to file federal tax returns in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Hill’s issue with New Jersey has yet to become a criminal matter, but her problems with the IRS are a different matter. She has pled guilty to the three counts of failure to file tax returns, and could now face up to three years behind bars. Her sentencing hearing is scheduled to take place in November.
