 The father of five of singer Lauryn Hill’s children is engaged to another woman. Rohan Marley, the son of reggae legend Bob Marley, is reportedly promising to love, honor and cherish Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana. It was Fontana herself who revealed the engagement news to Brazil’s “Veja” magazine.Â
She says she and Rohan are considering exchanging vows in Ethiopia where the Rastafarian movement began.
Fontana tells the magazine that Rohan told her they have “to return to the roots so the marriage will last forever.”
Rohan, a former University of Miami football player, reportedly met Isabeli shortly after his break up with Lauryn Hill last year.
While there was never any confirmation that Rohan and Lauryn were legally married, the two had five children together and Hill often referred to Marley as her husband throughout their 15-year relationship.
Hill and Marley went their separate ways when it became known that Hill was pregnant with a sixth child who was fathered by another man.

This is so gross !! She has been married 3 times and he has 6 children?!? Who knows how many children he has in Jamaica. He spread himself too wide and thin for me. We live in a day when there is untreatable diseases. Yuk!
The tragedy to this story is the fact that another black women wasted all her good years on this guy just to live together for years and have a bunch of out of wedlock kids. Now she’s a single parent of 5 kids and he’s moving on and marrying a women he dated 1 year.
If this doesn’t tell “BLACK WOMEN†something stay the fuck on your form of birth control and wait until this man say’s “I Do In Front Of Your Pastor†before having baby after baby after baby. I know she wasn’t visioning her life a single parent with now 6 kids while the man she loved is going to marry a women with no kids. He rather make a family with her then you.
What man is going to want her with 6 kids now and she’s mentally strange most likely from all the stress and drama her put her through. This is too much, you don’t get rewarded all the time for hanging in there, when a man is done he’s done while you’re still hanging on and having babies. Fail! I’m so sad because she was on bad bitch when her career was hot.
TT….I agree with you and I’m glad you stated your view. However I do disagree with with the first statement and relating it to Rohan Marley. They may not have been married (shame on BOTH of them), however it seemed she messed up pretty badly by getting PREGNANT by another man. I think Rohan was in it for the long run but that’s the ultimate betrayal…to cheat AND keep the baby. SMH
I’m not validating his actions by leaving her but I understand his reasoning.
Again…they were both in the wrong with their continued procreation. And you’re right…more ofter than not we see our Black men moving onto the supposed ‘next, better, breed’ and it’s very sad!
So as a Black Woman….you’re right I hope we do raise the bar so high for these men and our men that they’re very close to God when the reach that point in their lives.
To the last commenter Rohan had long been know to do his thing on lauryn,. Let’s not forget that she has had many issues with him sleeping around… After all he is a Marley( no disrespect).. I think Lauryn had enough and I’m sure will find plenty of men that will love her better.. She’s a strong black women ..with several amazing talents..

@ KT….I find it interesting that you say u believe Rohan was in it for the long run and suffered the “ultimate betrayal”. If Lauryn gettin pregnant by another man is the ultimate betrayal, than what should we call have called it when Rohan impregnated Lauryn’s cousin a few years ago???? Guess HIS love ISN’T as unconditional as hers.Shame on both of them for having a these kids a not marrying???? Who do u think was the RESIST party in that relationship to marrying??? I’ll give u two guesses. What I say is shame on Lauryn for not recognizing her own worth. Shame on him for recognizing it either. When a man truly loves u, he will come easily…..willingly. You won’t have to press him, shame him, or force him into it. U won’t have to try to create that bond thru multiple pregnancies. He will come easily. Miss Fontana doesn’t seem to be having that particular struggle with him. So TT I agree…..this is sooo tragic. My heart goes out her. Wish this lesson wasn’t such a long one. I missed her. This is a very long chapter in her life that she has to bring to a close. I still love her and I pray she’s maintaining.
