Lloyd Claims He Told Chris Brown To Cry At Bet Awards

Lloyd

According to Hiphopwired,

Chris Brown’s “comeback” performance at Sunday’s BET Awards shocked fans and naysayers as the R&B singer broke down into tears while paying tribute to Michael Jackson.

While some were impressed and welcomed the singer back into their good graces, others remained more critical and questioned his true intentions.

Adding more fuel to that fire is Lloyd, who’s gone on record to say that he encouraged Chris Brown to cry onstage, an order Brown obviously took to heart. Wow.In an interview with  Rap-Up, Lloyd says he told the controversial singer that he had “to really show his heart out to the world” and cry.

“He’s back with a vengeance….I think that they’re gonna find a place in their heart for him again….I told him man, you gotta get up there. You gotta CRY, you gotta really show your heart to the world.”

Whattt? Chris Breezy was this staged?? Check out the video below!! What yall think??

Lloyd clarifies Chris Brown comment after emotional BET performance. “Him crying at the BET Awards was real”

Lloyd took time out to clarify the statement he made in a video interview with Rap-Up.com, where he said, “You gotta cry, you gotta show your heart to the world” when asked about Chris Brown’s emotional performance during his Michael Jackson tribute at the BET Awards.

“I consider Chris a friend. He’s been through a lot in the past couple years. I never told him to go on stage and cry. We spoke recently, and I told him as a friend that people hadn’t really seen him be vulnerable about his situation last year [with Rihanna]. I thought he was holding back and needed to let that emotion out. Him crying at the BET Awards was real, I could feel it.” said Lloyd.

He went on to say, “I think he cried about a number of things. About the fact that he thought people would hate him forever because of one mistake. Feeling that love on stage was probably overwhelming. Plus MJ being gone and him performing “Man in the Mirror”, that song is powerful, especially for his situation. It pushed him over the edge.”

Responding to the many blogs and fans that took Lloyd’s comments as a negative statement against Chris Brown, Lloyd offered this response, “To say that he was faking or that I’m hating on him, that’s some bull shit. Last week Essence.com asked me what artist most embodied MJ. I told them it was Chris. I never saw MJ perform live, but he [Chris Brown] is the closest thing I’ve witnessed. Chris is back, and I’m just as excited as his fans are. It’s just frustrating that people want to make everything negative.”

he did not mean it like that…..those tears were real….

  8. Quita says:

I think ppl should jus tgive da man a chance! I mean DAMN he made a mistake, he has learned from it, he did his time, now ppl should just let the shit go! He’s only human…we all make mistakes! I believe that the tears were real…..And if not then so what! I hope this performance puts him back on the map….he’s just a kid!

  9. CMarie says:

I really don’t think Lloyd meant it like that. I think he meant, he told Chris to just go up there and pour his heart out and IF you gotta cry in order to pour your heart out, don’t hold it in, just let it flow… that’s what I think he meant by that.

  10. Mike says:

I think Lloyd’s comment was taken out of context. FreddyO, yall know that

  11. shawna says:

even if it was staged at the end his true emotion came out cuz he couldn’t sing if it was staged he would of cry for a lil while and start singing but he couldnt even finish the damn song…….i dont care what anyone says i still like chris brown and everyone deserve a 2nd chance, dem ppl dat are critize him they ain’t no better then him

  12. Sexyd says:

Lloyd’s did not mean it like that…Chris did a wonderful job…He been through a lot and people make mistake…Some people just need to let it go and move on…

LLOYD PLEASE STOP IT! i personally think Chris Brown meant it and he did an excellent job!

  15. ilovejoy81 says:

    After that Lloyd said:

I consider Chris a friend. He’s been through a lot in the past couple years. I never told him to go on stage and cry. We spoke recently, and I told him as a friend that people hadn’t really seen him be vulnerable.

Do you research before you judge.

    That came from NecoleBitchie.com

  16. SexyMOM says:

Yeah, I agree–it’s no way that could’ve been staged…it was VERY emotional….People always taking shit out of context………

  17. Ashten4Real says:

Please, lets not make this into something that it’s not. Lloyd said “He’s back with a vengeance….I think that they’re gonna find a place in their heart for him again….I told him man, you gotta get up there. You gotta CRY, you gotta really show your heart to the world.” Meaning to show people that you were wrong and accept things as they are. Notice the song he wanted to sing at the end….’Man in the Mirror”

C’mon people, let’s keep it moving.

  18. Nope says:

Why would he tell on him? He’s a joke

  19. Deann Dmere says:

First off catch up with the news, He Lloyd Lied to cash in is 15 min, I mean Lloyd who? Ok I missed some of the BET Awards, why is it that BET will air every performance but Chris Browns’ performance on line?Has anyone else noticed, Are they serious.. If black media (Bossip, MTO, Michael Baisden, Tom Joyner,Steve Harvey etc) treats him this way we cant expect anyone else to cut him any slack..He didnt need to be prompted thats why he cried, he has been treated worse than a pedophile or serial killer, thats enough to make an elephant break down…People have unfairly singled him out and some of the “oh he can’t be on my show folks arent even consistant with it..Oprah (who banned C.B. but welcomed Mike Tyson (2 times), Naomi Campbell,Wesley Snipes, El Debarge ?? they all committed the same crime,, How is it other countries are banning him but allowing serial killers and terrorist to travel into their countries..really? I mean really? We have unfairly crucified him more harshly than his grown azz peers…what does that really say about us? I don’t see folks boycotting these “stars” who have all been accused/convicted of “allegedly” abusing their significant others or in some cases children; R. Kelly, Michael Jackson;Courtney Love;Ike Turner; Naomi Campbell;Jason Kidd; David Ruffin;golfer John Daly; El Debarge;Kelly Bensimon(Real Housewives of NY);Joe Budden; Aaron Hall;Bishop Thomas Weeks;Sugar Ray Leonard;Dr. Dre;Wesley Snipes;Darryl Strawberry;Ron Artest (LA Laker);Mel Gibson; Humphrey Bogart; Bobby Brown ; Def Leppard lead singer Joe Elliott, ;Liza Mineli & David Gest; Christian Slater; Miles Davis alleged abused Cicely Tyson;James Brown; B2K member J Boog;Charlie Sheen;Gary Coleman & Shannon Price ; former CSI actor Jonathan Togo and Gary Dourdan; Tom Sizemore convicted of *****aulting Heidi Fleiss; Ultimate fighting champ Tito Ortiz arrested for *****aulting GF Jenna Jameson; Corey Dillon (4x pro RB);Evel Knievel; Tracy Lawrence (country music singer); David H*****elhoff ; Rolling stone member Rockie Wood ;Warren Sapp; Bebe Winans;(But hey i guess if u can sing Gospel, take your team to the NBA championships or act on a popular crime show, we can forgive and forget and let you move on with your life) after reading this snippet of just a few examples many of these folks still have careers, are still celebrated regardless of issues in their personal lives & alot of these alleged abusers were alot older than Chris Brown,Chris Brown should not be held to a higher degree of accountability than any of these older men & women, I mean lets be for real, not one of us is without some sort of sin or stain the only difference is our lives aren’t constantly taped & photographed. Forgiving a man doesnt promote the act of what he did it promotes change, if people are never forgiven for anything they do then why would they ever want to change. what if this was your child? would you be so quick to write your own off? All I;m saying is ban and blackball them ALL or none at all, because crime is crime right?

  22. i use to be a big fan of chris brown, but after i found out that he abuses women it totally change the way i thought about him. Rihanna is a good woman, she is a queen, she deserves to be loved, every woman deserves to be treated with respect.
