Marvel just announced that the new Captian America will be a black man in the comics.
Check out the details below.
Marvel is making another casting change. On the heels of the news that the new Thor will be a woman, the comic book makers have announced that the new Captain America will be African-American for the first time in the franchise’s history. Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada revealed on Wednesday’s “Colbert Report” that the character Sam Wilson — a.k.a. The Falcon — will take over Captain America’s shield. The current Cap lost his special powers in the comic book series last month.
The history-making swap is set to take place in “Captain America Number 21.” But it will only affect the comics, and not the “Captain America” films. Chris Evans will hang on to the role after portraying the superhero in the series’ first two movies, as well as “The Avengers.”
