Moonlight Scores 8 Oscar Nominations, Hidden Figures Of Fences Also Honored

La La Land leads the race with the most nominations at the 2017 Academy Awards. The 2017 Academy Awards are scheduled to air on Sunday February 26 on ABC and the nominations were announced this Tuesday morning.

La La Land ties the all-time record for Oscar nominations with 14, including nods in the Best Picture category plus Best Actor and Actress for Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone respectively. Moonlightalso picked up a Best Picture nomination with Barry Jenkins in the running for Best Director.
Elsewhere there were multiple nods for Fences and Hidden Figuresplus a Best Original Score nomination for Micachu and her work onJackie.
This year’s awards will be held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
