Rick Ross is wearing MTV’s crown as the king of hip-hop music. The rap star is being called the Hottest MC in the Game by MTV News. Rick says it means a lot to him to have earned MTV’s praise, adding that their title of Hottest MC is “an honor.” Rick Ross beat out other hip-hop superstars like Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Drake to top MTV’s list. MTV notes that the success of Rick’s Maybach Music Group, as well as the performance of his recent compilation album “Self Made, Volume One,” made him the best choice for Hottest MC.
Rick Ross claimed MTV’s top spot despite the fact that he hasn’t released his fifth studio record, “God Forgives, I Don’t.” The record was due last year, but Rick was forced to postpone the album after suffering two seizures in October. “God Forgives, I Don’t” is expected sometime later this year.
