Nas is intent on making sure concert promoter Patrick Allocco returns home safely from Africa. Sources tell TMZ.com the rap star never intended to keep the money from his failed New Year’s Eve shows, and is trying to figure out where he should return his advance. Nas and his opening act, Jemiah Jai, received 315-thousand dollars for two performances in Angola, but they failed to make their flights from the United States. Local “concert impresario” Henrique “Riquhino” Miguel was angered when they didn’t show up, and reportedly had Allocco and his son kidnapped at gunpoint. The U.S. Embassy eventually intervened to get the men released, but they’re still in Angola trying to resolve the money issue.
While Nas is trying to return the 315-thousand dollars, he doesn’t feel the situation is all his fault. Insiders say the emcee did initially agree to perform, but decided to call it off after a “miscommunication” about travel plans.
