New Music : Aaliyah Featuring Drake – ‘Enough Said’

It looks like the collaboration between Drake and Aaliyah is more than just a rumor. Not long after reports surfaced about the rapper working with unreleased material from the late singer, producer Noah “40” Shebib put a new Aaliyah song featuring Drake on Soundcloud. Called “Enough Said,” the track might be the first release from a posthumous Aaliyah album, which Drake is reportedly executive producing. However, it turns out not everyone is on board with that idea. Longtime Aaliyah collaborator Timbaland recently told Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club that “it would not be right” for Drake to go forward with the record on his own. The producer says “the proper way” to go about making a new Aaliyah record would be to include himself and Missy Elliott, another frequent cohort of Aaliyah’s. But for now, Timbaland says he has no idea what’s going on.

Aaliyah died eleven years ago this month on August 25th, 2001 after a plane carrying the 22-year-old singer and eight others crashed in The Bahamas shortly after takeoff. Aaliyah had just completed filming the music video for her song “Rock The Boat” and was on her way back to the United States when the tragedy occurred.
