Nick also spoke about how he got into show business. Apparently, he started off performing stand-up comedy at his local church, where his father was a minister. Cannon says it was a tough gig because he would impersonate Richard Pryor, which meant he would use profanity — something the church crowd disapproved of. From there, Nick says he went on to acting and rapping.
Nick also opened up about his current gig as the host of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” As part of his hosting duties, Nick says he has to comfort sobbing children after the judges make them cry.
