Nick Cannon is getting the chance to sample champagne wishes and caviar dreams on his own terms. The “America’s Got Talent” host is set to host and executive produce a reboot of the 1980s series “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Production on the series is expected to begin in the fall for NBCUniversal’s Style Network channel. Cannon, who is married to singer Mariah Carey, says following in the footsteps of original “Lifestyles” host Robin Leach is a “dream come true,” though he does plan to add a little more of a comedic spin on his version of the series.
Cannon says he wants to remind people that being rich and famous doesn’t mean you always have to take yourself too seriously. Style says the revamped “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” will focus on “dot com money, hip hop fame, one-hit wonders” as well as “old money glitz.”
