Nicki Minaj is feeling the heat from using the iconic photo of Malcolm X as the cover art for her new single “Lookin Ass N–GGA”. The flamboyant starlet decided to issue a very public apology on her Instagram page.
Check out the apology below.
Fans are jumping down Nicki Minaj’s back a out her usage of the iconic photo of Malcolm X. Some view the use of such a picture as both ignorant and disrespectful. Nicki has taken to Instagram to issue an apology to the family of Malcolm X and all who found the album cover tacky.
The tone of Nicki’s Instagram seem more irritated than apologetic. Should Nicki have used this photograph to express her creativity? I don’t agree with her usage of this photograph. I think that so many young people are desensitized by our history in this country.
But I do agree with the homie that her cover art has sparked an amazing conversation. I agree that we need to talk about race relations and history. But I don’t agree wig her use of the photograph.

Nikki minage has no business using a piece of Black American heritage that she clearly knows nuthin about…she wasn’t here ..she wasn’t born here…seems lackin the respect that goes along with the reason she shouldn’t have tried n used ….somebody should pulled her coat-tail and let her know what the deal is!”
