Nicki Minaj says her beef with a fan site over leaked music isn’t why she decided to delete her Twitter account. The rap diva tells Capital FM that she decided to leave the social networking site earlier this month because she “needed a moment” to herself. While they didn’t cause her to stop tweeting, Nicki says she did have an issue with the fan site NickiDaily. The rapper says she used to follow the site on Twitter, but decided to unfollow them when they began tweeting unauthorized samples of her music. Nicki notes that she never said anything negative about the site, but as soon as she stopped following them they began telling fans that she’s “mean” for no longer supporting their Twitter account.

Nicki is currently promoting her sophomore album, “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.” The record was released earlier this month and opened atop the Billboard 200 chart. Check out the interview below:
