Nicki Minaj says she doesn’t want to settle for just being a hip-hop superstar. The rap diva tells the April issue of “Allure” that she’s always viewed music as a business, and ultimately wants to create an “empire” from her work. Nicki says she’s not afraid to take on some of music’s biggest names on the way to the top. She recalls running into Jay-Z at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show and playfully telling the rap icon that she’s coming for his “spot.”

Nicki also opens up about her workout routine, or lack thereof, in the new edition of “Allure.” While she says she’s always been petite, Nicki admits she has to work to keep the extra pounds off. The “Super Bass” rapper says you won’t find her on a treadmill though, noting that when she needs to drop a little weight she just cuts “out sugar and starch.” Nicki Minaj is getting ready to drop her upcoming album, “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.” The record is set to arrive on April 3rd.

Nicki told us via twitter that she is writing two books. Sources report — when a fan reached out to ask if she would ever consider writing a book, Nicki tweeted back to let her know that she’s one step ahead– and working on two at the moment. Perhaps she’s channeling Nicki and Roman for different perspectives in each book.

No one will really know for sure what off the wall ideas she’s got going on until more is revealed.
