Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest has signed to the New York Knicks!
Check it out after the break!
The Queens native who has played with several teams during his fourteen year career, has been awarded the chance to play for the home team. An aspiration that many NY natives like Stephon Marbury have achieved.
“Doesn’t matter [if I start],” World Peace told reporters during a news conference Monday at the Las Vegas Summer League. “I don’t care if I’m starting or sweeping the floors. You hear me? I want to win.”
Beneath all the eccentricity really is a guy from Queens, Queensbridge projects, who once shared the court with Lamar Odom before either of them were in the NBA. He simply wants to play ball. Something he’d probably do for free!
During the NBA Summer Leagues in Las Vegas, Metta more recently said, “I appreciate the opportunity to add my molecules to their chemistry.”
Well, you know Metta couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get weird.
I think that the battle of the teams separated by the Brooklyn Bridge, Nets and Knicks, has just gotten interesting. World Peace is a strong defender. The Knicks definitely have the components of a winning team, we’ll just have to wait and see.
What do you think about the addition of Metta World Peace to the New York Knicks?
