Janet Jackson is feeling the heat from PETA in the Philippines. According to the Philippine newspaper the “Manila Bulletin,” members of the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals appeared outside the venue of Jackson’s opening night performance of her “Number Ones: Up Close and Personal” tour. The PETA activists, dressed as grim reapers, were protesting the singer’s participation in an ad campaign last year for the brand Blackglama.
The company is known for using fur in their luxury line, particularly mink-lined accessories and clothing. Jackson hasn’t issued a statement, but she has appeared in public, including “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” talking about her vegetarian diet. Her “Number Ones” tour comes to North America on March 4th with a show in Houston, Texas.
