Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed Opens Skyview Atlanta a 200-foot high, skyscraping Ferris wheel with much fanfare and excited in downtown Atlanta. Skyview Atlanta sits across from Centennial Olympic Park and the city is super excited about its latest attraction. There were even people camped out as early as 7 a.m. to be among the first to get a ride.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and City Council members cut the ceremonial red ribbon and took the first official ride on Atlanta’s newest local attraction.
Mayor Reed had this to say about Skyview Atlanta,
“When you get to see Atlanta from that vantage point, it just makes you feel good about the city when you see how well it’s laid out and how much is going on. You can see all over on to the Ponce de Leon corner, you can see up north to Buckhead. You can see, of course, west Atlanta. It just gives you a real sense of pride.”
This is a very historic day for the City of Atlanta. Skyview Atlanta is located on the 100 block of Luckie Street, directly beside Tabernacle Atlanta. The ride will complete four revolutions per ride and last about 15 minutes, according to developers.
Skyview Atlanta’s Ferris Wheel totes 42 gondolas that each hold up to six passengers.
The cost is $13.50 ($14.45, including tax) for adults, $8.50 ($9.10, including tax) for children and $12.15 for military ($13, including tax).
Skyview Atlanta guarantees the following,
‘You can see Atlanta from here’ slogan, the 200-foot high attraction gives passengers a sweeping birds-eye view of the city.
The attraction will be open most days 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with an extra hour at night on Saturday.
