Big Boi was spotted at ATL Live on the Park’s concert last night the event was powered by Cricket Wireless and it was all about Atlanta’s Hip Hop Pioneers. Big Boi is doing some major stuff in the studio, on stage, in the community with his Big Kids Foundation, and word on the street is there’s a new movie project in the making. Big Boi wants Atlanta to know that they are back and they are doing things in a VERY BIG WAY!
Check out the details below.
I had the time of my life at ATL Live on the Park’s concert celebrating Atlanta’s biggest Hip Hop Pioneers. The September concert was a special edition to the monthly concert series titled: Hip Hop Unplugged. My girl Shanti Das, the Hip-Hop Professional, honored and celebrated pioneers from the Atlanta Hip-Hop music scene. The evening was hosted by Kenny Burns, sounds by DJ Trauma and House band Quinn and Jukebox.
The evening was star-studded with a special performance with Big Gipp from Atlanta’s iconic Goodie Mob. Big Boi and Envy were special guests and the crowd went wild. In addition to the stars the night was about honoring Organized Noize (Rico Wade, Sleepy Brown, and Ray Murray), Kawan “KP” Prather, DJ Toomp, DJ Nabs, DJ Jaycee, DJ Smurf, DJ Jelly, and DJ Searcy.
I got the chance to catch up with Big Boi and he told me that’s he putting his heart and soul into a hot new music project. He’s been busy in the studio wrapping up the last two tracks. In addition to working in the studio and traveling around the country with Andre 3000 on Outkast’s #ATLast; Big Boi is making time for his Big Kids Foundation. They non-profit that’s all about helping the community is working on a big Halloween project.
I told Big Boi that I can’t wait to see the #ATLast Concert in my city. Big Boi promises that Atlanta is going to get a treat in the three-day concert. Outkast’s Atlanta concert is going to be epic check out this line up:
The Friday concert will feature Janelle Monae, Solange and 2 Chainz.
The Saturday concert will Kid Cudi, Childish Gambino and Raury.
The Sunday is going to be bananas, because B.o.B will hit the stage alongside Killer Mike, 8Ball and MJG, Bun B, K Camp, Devin the Dude, Kilo Ali, Big Gipp and DJ Unk.
Big Boi treated ATL Live on the Park as a date night with his lovely wife Sherlita Patton as they enjoyed the night of music. I am so glad to see that they are HAPPY & TOGETHER! It’s a great look.
