I had the opportunity to support and snap photos of the beautiful Drea Kelly in her Atlanta stage debut of a 3 person stage play entitled “Hers and His”. The starlet shined as she settled into the character of a woman trying to fix her marriage from an emotionally abusive cheating husband with the help of a hilarious psychologist and her crunkishly bitter subconscious. The stage play was held at the Social Haven an intimiate event facility that has a stocked bar and tons of room to get cozy.
Check out the details below.
VH1’s “Hollywood Exes” and famed choreographer Drea Kelly did her thing in the dope stage play “Of Hers and His” at the Social Haven event facility nestled in the very heart of Atlanta’s Midtown. Drea Kelly is a force in the arts; she’s also an actress, producer, choreographer dancer, executive producer for musicals, creative director/artist-developer, fashion-designer and a motivational speaker. The ex-wife of singer R. Kelly is a dope force and making moves with her new stage play “Of Hers and His”.
“Of Hers and His” is a cleverly written two-act stage satire that explores the “attitudes of relationships”. The play was full of audience interaction that helps to tell the salacious story where all opinions matter. Drea Kelly is the lovely Sadie a business professional who is fed up with her cheating boyfriend Don. Sade is eager to work with an unconventional therapist who is eager to push the envelope to take the couple’s relationship to new heights.
We all have these conversations in private, with the homies, but never like this! The play was written and directed by Joel P.E. King and it stared Drea Kelly, Jensen Atwood, Joel P.E. King, LaQuesha Harris “Black Pearl”, my girl Chef Kymmis and the Emcee was Danny Sanders.
The play was DOPE and Drea Kelly’s celebrity friends came out to lend their support including the lovely Reindrop Lopes, the lovely Bo Talley, and the homie Rodney Perry. The stage play was so dope and I can’t wait to see it again.
