Over the weekend I had the opportunity to check out the Floetry Reunion Tour at Atlanta’s Center Stage. The concert was packed full of neo soul fans ready to hear the great girl group who taught us about the power of saying YES and how girls from London get down.
Check out the details below.
Marsha Ambrosius and Natalie Stewart the dynamic voices of Floetry are on a worldwide reunion tour to the absolute delight of neosoul fans. I was stoked about checking out the dynamic singers who introduced the world to FLOETRY a form of spoken word laced with beautiful melodic sounds with dope lyrics. I was right on the stage grooving to the beats and thanking the GOD of R&B music that it is back and ever-present. The two ladies looked amazing as they worked the stage and serenaded each other with amazing synchrony and challenged the audience to open their minds to free thinking, love, revolution, and the enjoyment of music through powerful energy.
The Floetry Reunion Tour was epic with the Janine and the Mixtape straight out of New Zeland serving as the opening act. Floetry opened up together over some of their biggest hits and caught fans up on life since the group disbanded. We were thrilled to get to see each star showcase within their independent artistry. Natalie Stewart shared she was living a life that involved cultivating poetry and she has worked on 3 projects since Floetry. Natalie introduced Musiq Soul Child; who shyly came on stage and announced he’s working on a new album and even performed with Natalie a bit. It was dope!
Marsha Ambrosuis thanked the fans for showing her love and shared her love for all things ratchet. She taught the Atlanta audience how to cuss in Falsetto. It was dope!
