“Love and Hip Hop” creator and producer Mona Scott-Young gave back in a major way this holiday! A board member at the GrassROOTS Community Foundation (GCF), Scott-Young recently hosted a “Turkey Challenge” where she and other celebrities competed to sell large amounts of turkeys!
GCF is based in New Jersey, but this year, their services were expanded to Harlem and Atlanta with two turkey giveaways!
The challenge allowed GrassROOTS the ability to provide healthy holiday meals to needy families that included a turkey and all the fixings and 5 pounds of vegetables and fruit! The GCF website says the foundation is “a training organization with an emphasis on public health and social action. We invest in our community members’ collective well-being, and teach them how to use their healthy energy to transform themselves, their families and communities.”
Check out the pictures from the giveaway at QLS Gardens Apartments in southwest Atlanta below to see Shekinah Jo, Mimi Faust and her daughter Eva, Bambi, Sierra Gates of GlamShop, Karlie Redd, and more gift grateful individuals and families with food for the holiday!
