The lifeless body of pop superstar Michael Jackson is setting the tone for the trial for Dr. Conrad Murray. Prosecutors opened Murray’s trial Tuesday in Los Angeles with an image of the singer lying in a hospital gown, on a gurney, mouth slightly open and with tubes attached to his nose and arm. It was a stark contrast to another photo attorney David Walgren showed of Jackson rehearsing for his concerts the night before his death on June 25th, 2009. Prosecutors also played audio of the pop star sounding incoherent in a recording from Murray’s iPhone about a month before Jackson’s death. They claim the singer’s slurred speech and barely recognizable voice was the result of the drugs he was on at the time of the recording.Click here to see photos…
Jackson’s tour director Kenny Ortega was the first to take the witness stand on the first day of the trial Tuesday. Ortega read an email he wrote after Jackson appeared ill and could not rehearse on June 19th. He said everything in him said Jackson should be evaluated and that it was going to take a strong therapist to help him through. Ortega testified that because of that email he was admonished by Dr. Murray who allegedly told him to stop trying to be an amateur doctor and just be the director.
Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter. He’s accused of administering the anesthetic propofol to help Jackson sleep, then failing to properly monitor the pop star. He could face up to four years in prison if convicted.
The last thing I needed was to see a photo of a dead MJ. The damn bastard Murray. R.I.P My king Michael
This is sickening. There are no words for the gap that his death has left in pop culture. My heart truly aches for this sweet, misguided man. 🙁
So sad man…R.I.P. Mike gone to damn soon..
