It’s still anyone’s guess as to when Dr. Dre’s highly-anticipated “Detox” album will be released. A rep for the rap icon tells MTV News that Dre was not referring to the album’s release in a recent Internet video in which he seemingly suggested an April 20th drop date. “Detox” has been in the works for the past decade, with rumored release dates continually popping up only to eventually be shot down. Recent reports have suggested that the album is nearly finished. In November, Dre released a new single title “Kush.” He talked about working on “Detox” last summer, telling MTV that he’s, quote, “trying to give everybody what they’ve been waitin’ for and make sure they’re not disappointed.”
Dr. Dre’s last release was 1999’s “2001.” The record has sold more than seven-million copies in the U.S. thanks to hits like “Still D.R.E.,” “Forgot About Dre,” and “The Next Episode.”
