Should Diddy’s Son Justin Combs Return His $54,000 College Scholarship

Recently  Diddy and Misa Hylton‘s 18-year-old son, Justin Combs, was awarded a full athletic scholarship to play football at UCLA this fall.  A while later on CNN, a reporter asked if the Bad Boy prince should return his $54,000 college scholarship. See what happens below…

UCLA spokesman Ricardo Vazquez, jumped in to defended the university for granting Justin with the scholarship.  He explained that

There is a big separation between financial aid based on need and how that’s funded and how athletic scholarships are funded and awarded to students…Unlike need-based scholarships, athletic scholarships are awarded to students strictly on the basis of their athletic and academic ability, and not on a student’s financial need…”

Justin is a pretty smart guy though. He graduated from high school with a 3.75 GPA and was a great football player.  Yeah, his Diddy has money, but Justin has skills!

Diddy recently topped the Forbes list of Wealthiest Hip Hop Artist raking in  $550 million last year.  What would you say?  Should Diddy’s son Justin return the scholarship or give it to someone who is less fortunate?

He earned his scholarship. He obviously has the grades and skills. Yes his father has money, and it would be the noble thing to do according to the outside world, but who are we to say that it is wrong for him to have the scholarship. Also, if something was to happen to Diddy’s money tomorrow, that scholarship will guarantee that Justin is taken care of. So he should keep his scholarship and enjoy his accomplishment.

Let’s Keep it real..Diddy is rich NOT Justin..yes he is privy to his father’s money but it’s still NOT his money. Also, with Justin going to UCLA i’m quite certain Diddy will be giving money throughout the four years he is there. This is a MERIT scholarship funded primarily by alumni, no taxpayers. He is not teh first rich kid to get a scholarship and not the last. This was EARNED, people need to fall back and let this bot achieve greatness outside of his father’s shadow.
