Her departure from the show wasn’t a publicity stunt, or maybe it was… Hummmm PerezHilton is reporting that the beloved judge is working to get back on American Idol.

“Don’t count Paula out just yet,” says our Abdrool insider, telling us that talks are being held about having Paula return and trying to come to a deal that makes sense.

Good! We definitely prefer Paula over Kara.

All I am going to say is “she’s dumb as hell if she turns down a check, cause no one is going to pay like Idol would”… LOL

Yesterday I got an email that said that Kandi the newest Housewife might be going to American Idol. This is what the email said:

The news the beloved “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul’s departure has started another round or rumors for the upcoming season for of idol — one of TV’s most popular shows. Though no word has been confirmed as to if the producers will continue with a judging panel of three or add Burruss, it sure would make a very even pairing for television. ”

Rumors are starting to fly fresh off the press this morning that one of the stars of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, the Grammy Award Winning Singer/Songwriter, Kandi Burruss, may be a name in contention for a spot as a the new judge on the popular show which premieres in January. Though no word has been confirmed as to if the producers will continue with a judging panel of three or add Burruss, it sure would make a very even pairing for television. ”

She is credited with winning and Grammy and writing records that have sold over 55 million records. She is also noted as making history becoming the first woman Songwriter of the Year for ASCAP Rhythm and Soul.

Say Ain’t so Paula.. Ms. Abdul took to her Twitter account  to let the world know she will not be returning as a judge on reality juggernaut American Idol.

“With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to [American Idol].” she wrote.

“I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day [one] become an international phenomenon.”

“What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me, it has truly been breathtaking, especially over the past month.”

Reps for Abdul were not  available for comment.

Could Simon Cowell’s days on “American Idol” be numbered? In a new interview with the UK’s “Mirror,” the acerbic British judge says he is tired of working on three shows at one time. The 49-year-old stars as a judge on “American Idol” and hosts the British programs “The X-Factor” and “Britain’s Got Talent.” The sharp-tongued celeb explains, quote, “I don’t want to come over as whiny because I am very grateful that I have got these jobs. But there is a point where I am not sure we can keep this schedule up.” When it comes to picking a show to step away from, Cowell says he can’t imagine leaving any of them. He adds that he’ll most likely leave “American Idol” because he has got one year under contract. Cowell will appear on tonight’s episode of “American Idol,” which airs at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on Fox. The contestants will reportedly be singing movie tunes, with director Quentin Tarantino advising them. Wednesday night’s elimination episode will feature a pre-taped performance from Jennifer Hudson.
