Lil WayneCanadian hip-hop fans got some disappointing news this week. According to MTV News, the “Young Money Presents: America’s Most Wanted Music Festival” had to cancel two Canadian shows this week after Lil Wayne reportedly fell ill. Monday’s show at the GM Place in Vancouver and Tuesday’s stop at the Rexall Place in Edmonton were both called off. It has yet to be announced if the shows will be rescheduled. Lil Wayne’s camp released a statement on Tuesday saying, quote, “Wayne, his band and crew arrived in Canada with full intention of performing but were forced to cancel the dates due to doctor-mandated rest.” The statement continues by adding that the tour, quote, “extends an apology to the fans for the cancellation.”

Lil Wayne isn’t the first artist to battle health issues on the tour. Last month, hip-hop star Drake had to be carried off the stage after re-injuring a knee that had suffered torn ligaments. Over the weekend, Drake announced that he would be going into surgery on September 8th to repair the leg. The “Young Money Presents: America’s Most Wanted Tour” is scheduled to continue Thursday night at the Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado.
