Beyonce Among “Forbes’” Top-Earning Musicians

Beyonce is once again earning recognition for her earnings. The former Destiny’s Child star landed at number three on “Forbes” magazine’s Top-Earning Musicians list. Her take of 87-million dollars over the past 12 months stems from her music career as well as her movie work and numerous endorsements, along with high-profile performances at one of President Obama’s inaugural balls and at the Oscars. The only two stars to beat out Beyonce were Madonna and Celine Dion. The Material Girl topped the list with 110-million in earnings, while Dion took home 100 million. Earlier this year, Beyonce landed at number four on “Forbes’” Celebrity 100 list, while her hubby Jay-Z came in at number 32.

                 Lil Wayne’s Defense Targets Drug-Sniffing Dogs

Lil Wayne’s attorneys are calling his Arizona drug case, quote, “winnable.” The “Yuma Sun” reports the rapper and his lawyers were in a Yuma courtroom Tuesday for a hearing in the matter. Wayne’s defense team spent most of the time addressing the training that was given to the drug-sniffing dogs who allegedly alerted officials to the presence of illegal substances on the rapper’s bus last year. The rapper’s attorneys claimed they have yet to receive the information they requested. Prosecutors countered that they’re being stonewalled by the Border Patrol, so the judge promised to “take action.” Wayne’s lawyers also asked for access to video footage from the arrest to make sure the dogs properly alerted agents. Attorney James Tilson said, quote, “If the dogs weren’t properly trained, then we can file a motion to suppress any evidence that resulted from it.” He added that his goal is to have all charges against Lil Wayne dropped. Lil Wayne is facing four counts in Yuma, stemming from a January 2008 arrest. DEA agents claimed they found marijuana, cocaine, Ecstasy and a gun on Lil Wayne’s tour bus. The rapper also has a gun possession trial on deck in New York. That case stems from a July 2007 arrest, where cops claim they found the rapper in possession of a 40-caliber pistol. The rapper has pleaded not guilty in both cases.

Troubled Music Producer Scott Storch Gets Reality Show

Scott Storch’s rollercoaster ride through the music world will be the subject of a new reality show. The troubled music producer just signed a deal with Bunim/Murray, the production team behind MTV’s longrunning “The Real World” and “Road Rules” reality series. The yet-untitled show will take a look at how Storch — who has produced hits for Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera — creates tunes in the studio. Storch’s legal and personal problems are also expected to be showcased. No word on when the show is expected to air, or what network will pick it up. Scott Storch was recently ordered to pay a former associate 750-thousand dollars over a joint corporation that never materialized. He was also charged with grand theft auto in April for failing to return a leased Bentley. Last year, the producer faced legal problems when he reportedly failed to pay over 46-thousand dollars in child support.

   Beyonce Joined By Hubby Jay Z To Open North American Tour

It seems Beyonce doesn’t mind mixing work and family. MTV News reports that the singer’s husband, rapper Jay-Z, joined her at the opening night of the North American leg of her “I AM…” tour in New York City Sunday night. The couple hit the Madison Square Garden stage to perform a medley of their hits “Crazy in Love” and “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)” before the screaming crowd. But Jay-Z soon handed over the spotlight to his wife, who went on to perform hits such as “Baby Boy,” “Bootylicious” and “Halo.” When it came time to sing her recent hit “Single Ladies,” Beyonce featured a series of fan-made videos of people imitating her own dance moves to the tune. One of the clips, shown on a big screen behind the stage, included the infamous Justin Timberlake “Saturday Night Live” skit where the pop star donned a leotard and heels to bust out the Beyonce-style moves. Beyonce takes the stage Wednesday night in Washington DC. She’ll play a string of dates throughout the US before wrapping up her “I AM…” tour with a four-night concert stint in Las Vegas in August.

Al B. Sure’s First Studio Album Since 1992 Hits Stores Today

I know yall are like who the hell is Al B  cause I feel the say way, so just to let you know he is the really father of one of Puffy’s kids. Al B. Sure’s first new project in 17 years is finally here. The singer’s CD “Honey I’m Home” hits stores today, marking his first studio album since 1992’s “Sexy Versus.” Al recorded his first three CDs under Warner Bros. Records. However, his new disc is being released on Hidden Beach Recordings, whose roster also includes Jill Scott and BeBe Winans. Al B. Sure’s “Honey I’m Home” features the song “I Love It (Papi Aye Aye Aye).” Since the release of his last CD, Al B. Sure has worked on several TV projects, including an HBO Comedy Special featuring Jamie Foxx. Al also hosted his own syndicated slow jam radio show called “The Secret Garden.” The R&B crooner rose to fame in the late 1980s with his breakthrough album “In Effect Mode.” The disc included memorable hits such as “Nite and Day” and “Off On Your Girl.”

           Beyonce On Destiny’s Child: “We Still Are Friends”

Beyonce is doing just fine on her own. The singer has a hit movie at the box office with “Obsessed,” and recently topped the charts with her latest solo album “I Am…Sasha Fierce.” But Beyonce still faces questions about the possibility of a reunion with her former group Destiny’s Child. While she won’t give a yes or no answer to that question, Beyonce notes the girls still share a tight bond.

Destiny’s Child called it quits back in 2005 after releasing four studio albums, and notching four number-one songs on the Hot 100. The group was dubbed the World’s Best-Selling Female Group of All Time at the 2005 World Music Awards. Along with Beyonce, Destiny’s Child featured singers Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland.

 ”Obsessed” Thriller Dominates Movie Box Office

The new “Fatal Attraction”-style thriller “Obsessed” was the top draw at the movie box office this weekend. Starring superstar Beyonce Knowles, the film took in 28-point-five-million-dollars in its opening weekend to debut at number one. A knock-down-drag-out fight scene between Beyonce and “Heroes” TV star Ali Larter fueled a lot of buzz about the film in the weeks leading up to its release. “Obsessed” tells the story of an office temp worker, played by Larter, who becomes fixated on a married man at the office. Beyonce plays the man’s wife. Idris Elba and Jerry O’Connell also star. Last weekend’s box office champion “17 Again” took second place with almost 12-million-dollars in ticket sales. The new street fight film “Fighting,” starring Channing Tatum and Terrence Howard was third with just over eleven-million in box office receipts.

Court Dates This Week For Chris Brown, Andre 3000

Chris Brown and Andre 3000 will both be in court this Wednesday, but on opposite sides of country. Brown is scheduled to appear in a Los Angeles courtroom for a status hearing in his alleged beating of Rihanna. Brown stands accused of assaulting his then-girlfriend, as well as threatening to kill her. The R&B star previously pleaded not guilty in the matter. As for Andre 3000, the OutKast rapper is due in an Atlanta courtroom regarding a serious speeding violation. Andre was arrested in late March for allegedly travelling 109 miles-per-hour in 65 mile-per-hour zone. Cops claim the rapper told them he was in a hurry to get to a birthday party at the time. He was freed on 12-hundred-dollars bail.

Plies Plans To Feature Wide Range Of Collaborations On New CD

Plies is lining up some collaborators for his next album, but the Florida rapper is keeping the names secret for now. MTV.com reports Plies, who previously teamed up with T-Pain for the 2007 hit “Shawty,” has about five candidates in mind. But no matter who he brings in, Plies notes his songs always have a personal feel to them.

While Plies won’t reveal the names of those he plans to work with, he’s dropping some hints. The rapper says two of the MCs are from Atlanta, one’s from Memphis and the others hail from up north. Plies hopes to have his yet-untitled fourth album in stores by fall. He is also working on a reality TV show called “Goonette.” The series, which is being shopped around right now, features the rapper looking for what he calls “a female hustler.” A trailer for the show can be found atwww.PliesWorld.com.

A happily married career man finds himself the object of desire by a persistent temp worker who won’t take no for an answer in the new movie “Obsessed,” in theaters this weekend. Superstar Beyonce Knowles plays the man’s fiercely protective wife, Sharon, who also won’t take no for an answer. Beyonce says she was excited about taking on a role that didn’t involve portraying a performer.

                                Jamie Foxx Sued By Bartender

Jamie Foxx can literally blame this one on the alcohol. TMZ.com is reporting that the actor and “Blame It On The Alcohol” singer is being sued by a man who was bartending at a party Foxx hosted in 2007. According to court documents, William Presler claims that drunk party-goers were dropping their drinks all over the bar, spreading shattered glass everywhere. Instead of cleaning up the mess, Presler says his boss preferred to just sweep the glass along the side of the bar. Later in the evening, Presler slipped and injured himself on the collection of glass. He wound up needing 170 stitches to repair the damage to the severed nerves in his left hand. Presler, who has a degree in neuroscience, claims the injury has prevented him from pursuing his dream career as a brain surgeon. It is not yet known how much Presler is suing for. Controversy has been following Jamie Foxx over the past few weeks. He recently had to apologize for making inappropriate comments about teen star Miley Cyrus on his radio show.

         VH1 To Bring Back “Divas” Special, Asks Fans For Input

VH1 is getting the “Divas” back together. The network has announced plans to resume its live “Divas” concert series this year, after a four-year hiatus. Show producer Lee Rolontz notes VH1 has been bombarded with requests to bring back the special. He adds, quote, “Now more than ever, the time feels right to re-launch this beloved show as a new generation of talented female artists has come to the forefront of music.” VH1 is even asking fans for input. Viewers are asked to visitDivas.VH1.com to leave suggestions for female singers to take the “Divas” stage. Previous “Divas” performers have included Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Cher, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Beyonce and many others. This year’s “Diva” concert will take place September 17th at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House in New York.

All yesterday the Blog world was up in arms saying that Beyonce cant sing after all well now I have just found out that it was all a prank. TMZ.com is saying :

Beyonce has officially been cleared of all bad singing charges — the atrocious supposed “board mix” of her performance on “The Today Show” last year was altered after all.

Just as Mathew Knowles told us, the audio clip that many people believed was leaked from “Today” was indeed a fake. 

In fact, TMZ found the person behind the prank who was surprised it went as far as it did, saying, “It’s a little bit crazy. No one in their right mind would sound like that, and no one would cheer for someone singing like that.”

Apparently, the dude never went to an Ashlee Simpson concert…

Beyoncé’s booked for the summer. The singer has announced plans to kick off the U.S. leg of her “I AM…” world tour June 21st at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The outing officially began on March 26th in Edmonton, Alberta. The latest round of dates will see “Be” and her Sasha Fierce alter ego performing in 18 cities before winding down with a four-night stand at Las Vegas’ Encore Theatre inside the Wynn Hotel and Casino. Beyonce is touring in support of her 2008 release “I AM… Sasha Fierce.” Fan club members can purchase tickets for the show beginning this Monday, April 20th. The general public can purchase tickets on Saturday April 25th through Ticketmaster, beginning at 10:00 am local venue time. Tickets for the four-night residence in Las Vegas will go on sale at a later date. Information will be available at www.encorelasvegas.com
