The four entertainers made their way to Citizens Trust Bank in Atlanta to open up new personal accounts at the small, black owned financial institution. In doing that, they hope to inspire others to start banking small and “banking black.”
Killer Mike said on Instagram, “Four Entertainers Four New Accounts! #BankSmall #BankLocal #BankBlack #CitizensTrustBank #happyblackhistorymonth”
In another IG post, Mike said, “A buncha guys with #CitizensTrustBank President Cynthia Day. She is the most powerful human in the pic. This is why I love ATL, Amercia, My Culture and My people. #CitizensTrustBank #BankSmall #BankLocal #BankBlack #95Yrs #CuzImBlack”
Barack Obama found himself testing his vocals skills again singing the blues anthem of his hometown of Chicago, after being persuaded by the legendary singer B.B. King. During the performance of “Sweet Home Chicago,†President Obama, who wowed many when he sang a few words from “Let’s Stay Together†at a Harlem event, was coaxed to deliver a few lines. â€Come on, baby don’t you want to go?†President Obama sang into the mic, as Mick Jagger and B.B. King rocked on stage.
Obama then delivered the final lyric: “Sweet Home Chicago.†According to the Associated Press, Obama talked about the what the blues mean to him at the event, saying that “this music speaks to something universal. No one goes through life without both joy and pain, triumph and sorrow. The blues gets all of that, sometimes with just one lyric or one note. †Check out the video below… READ MORE
