Producer DJ Khaled & Friends opened the show last night at the 2016 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards. The evening was truly spectacular as R&B/Hip Hop stars from yesterday and today came to the ATL to celebrate the art and love of music. The beautiful Toni Braxton received the BMI President’s Award for her musical achievements. The private event saluted songwriters, producers and publishers of the past year’s top songs in the genres.
Over the weekend I had the opportunity to support one of my mentors, frat brothers, homies, and friend the iconic Ambassador Andrew Young for his big 83th birthday party and Inaugural Andrew J. Young International Leadership Awards 2015 celebrating people doing great things in the community.

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to journey to Selma, Alabama to be apart of the 50th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Selma Alabma. I was one of 80,000 people who made their way to Selma to commiserate the monumentus occassion. The weekend ended on a high note with the Salute to Selma Concert where some of the biggest names in Hollywood came out to celebrate the occassion.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will join Dr. Michael L. Lomax, President and CEO of the United Negro College Fund, to host the 31st Annual Mayor’s Masked Ball on Saturday, December 20, 2014
6:00 p.m.-Midnight. The event will take place at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis located in the heart of downtown Atlanta. This is Mayor Reed’s fifth UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball, an event which will benefit UNCF and its 37 member colleges and universities.
