
Cyhi the Prynce is one of G.O.O.D. music’s most anticipated artists. It is safe to say, the Georgia native has earned his keep and is ready to claim his thrown with hits such as Kanye’s, 2010′s “So Appalled,” CyHi dropping his first mixtape as a G.O.O.D. Music artist, titled “Royal Flush,” and of course releasing two mixtapes, “Royal Flush 2″ and “Jack of All Trades,” in In 2011. Don’t think Cyhi is ready to stop there. His new project is entitled, the ‘Ivy League Club’ mixtape. You can find beats on his mixtape from Mike Will, Lex Luger, Drumma Boy, T-Minus and more, while featured guests include B.o.B, ScHoolboy Q and Big K.R.I.T., Hit Boy, and more.
CyHi the Prynce recently sat down to speak about what it feels like to be doubted, the importance of Kanye West’s input, and his debut album. Check out a few excerpts from the interview and more below.
Cyhi speaks on his latest Mixtape “Ivy League Club”:
It’s really an extension from my younger days. [Ivy League Club] was my code for the marijuana trade. I was looked at as the weed man earlier in my teens. It was a clever way of me saying that without saying that. I feel like I grew up around a lot of intelligent young men and I thought me and my friends were pretty intelligent to be from where we’re from. Some of us got caught up but a lot of us didn’t. We’re blessed. I feel like that was the most resemblance of myself and my upbringing.
