Beyoncé and Jay-Z are not only the undisputed first couple of hip-hop, but according to Forbes they are also the world’s highest-paid celebrity couple as reported on MTV.
This year, despite Beyoncé’s seemingly lower profile in the music world, she still managed to rack in $40 million thanks to her many ventures in and out of music, including her 2011 album 4. As for Hova, well, Forbes notes he brought in slightly less with an income of $38 million thanks to his “Watch the Throne” album and tour with Kanye West, as well as his own enterprises outside of music.
While their combined $78 million makes them the couple to beat, last year’s #1 couple Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady are following close at #2 with $72 million in a combined salary. They’ve earned their keep on the list through modeling gigs (for both partners) and his contract with the Patriots, which runs through 2014.

Mary J. Blige might have second thoughts the next time she decides to dabble in the fast food industry. MTV News says Burger King pulled the R&B diva’s new commercial from their YouTube channel just one day after its debut. The ad, which premiered Monday, features Mary singing about the Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap. Fans were quick to voice their displeasure about the commercial, calling the spot stereotypical and accusing the singer of selling out. It’s been rumored that Blige received two-million dollars for the commercial.
Mary J. Blige isn’t the only celebrity to help promote Burger King’s new menu. Soccer star David Beckham, late night comedian Jay Leno, and actress Selma Hayek are also working with the fast food chain. Check out the video below…
Superbowl 2012 Commercials to me weren’t as good as last years. NBC says advertisers paid an average of $3.5 million for a 30-second spot but did you really watch the commercials? Check out some of the commercial below!!!
