DMX is celebrating his freedom after leaving a Phoenix, Arizona courtroom Monday. The rapper was sentenced to 18 months probation for attempted aggravated assault, stemming from a February incident where the rapper threw a tray of food at a corrections officer when he was in Phoenix’s Tent City jail. DMX was also given a 79-day jail sentence Monday, but was credited for 79 of the days he spent in Tent City. A rep said DMX is quote, “happy to be free and ready to begin his new life.” DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was jailed in Arizona back in January, after pleading guilty to animal cruelty, theft and drug charges. He was sentenced to 90 days behind bars and 18 months of probation. In 2008, the rapper was arrested a total of eight times — six times in Arizona and twice in Florida.
