ABC is expected to announce today that “Good Morning America” host Robin Roberts will interview Janet Jackson for a special to air on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 10 p.m. The singer will likely spend much of the hour talking about her late brother, Michael, Variety reported Wednesday.
So I’m watching CNN last night as they reveal more and more about Michael Jackson’s abuse of prescription drugs and come to find out his sister Janet already knew there was a problem!!! Apparently 2 years ago Janet who was worried about Michael’s over-use of prescription meds after visiting him and seeing how thin he was so she tried to stage an intervention and what did Michael do? Well according to sources Michael reportedly shut out his family when they tried to intervene, even ordering his security guards not to let the family members in. He also refused to take calls from his mother Katherine and wouldn’t contact anyone who tried to help for long periods of time. The Jackson family has issued a statement denying the intervention but Janet’s name was nowhere on that press release. Hmmmmm. Janet Jackson spoke out for the first time since the death of her brother, music icon Michael Jackson, over the weekend at the BET Awards. In a surprise appearance at Sunday night’s BET Awards, Jackson took to the stage to address the audience, saying she was elected to speak for the family. She is said to be still in disbelief. She was in the ATL on the way to the set of her new movie “Why Did I Get Married 2″, the sequel to the hit play and movie produced by Tyler Perry, when she got the call from a family member that MJ was very sick and she needed to come home. These are said to be some really tough times for her since she decided to take her life in a different direction, but I will tell yall about that a little later. The crazy thing was just before hearing that MJ had passed I was had been asked to come on the set to take some pic’s of her and some other cast members at the Georgia Dome.
Jackson’s father Joe Jackson was also in attendance at the awards. The elder Jackson walked the red carpet before the show, and sat in the audience with the Reverend Al Sharpton during the ceremony. The 2009 BET Awards recalled the life and musical legacy of late pop superstar Michael Jackson at a star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles Sunday night. Artists such as New Edition and Ne-Yo also performed Jackson’s hits as both a member of the Jackson 5 and as a solo artist. Clips of Jackson’s interviews and performances were shown throughout the ceremony.
It looks like Janet Jackson isn’t getting the major deals her colleagues have recently landed with Live Nation. According to Billboard.com, a rep for the company has denied reports Live Nation inked Jackson to a multi-million-dollar contract like the ones obtained by Madonna, U2 and Jay-Z. The spokesperson added Live Nation is not even, quote, “currently in discussions” with Jackson. Janet Jackson left Island Def Jam last year after just 14 months on the label. She cited a lack of promotion on the part of Island Def Jam when her “Discipline” CD was released last February. To date, the album has sold just over 400-thousand units in the U.S.
Singer Beyonce Knowles has reportedly left fellow artist Janet Jackson fuming after referring that the latter’s family did not come from an upper class background.
The leading R&B lady seemed to have taken a dig on Jackson family by contrasting her wealthy upbringing against that of Janet, who comes from the working class area of Gary, Indiana.
“I grew up upper class. Private school. My dad had a Jaguar,” the Daily Express quoted Beyonce as telling Elle magazine in a recent interview.
“We`re African-American and we work together as a family, so people assume we`re like the Jacksons – but I didn`t have parents using me to get out of a bad situation,” she added.
And according to the New York Daily News, Janet was said to be so livid with the remark that she was planning a head-on confrontation with Beyonce.
Why not just leave Janet alone! The FCC is taking the case of Janet Jackson’s infamous Super Bowl “wardrobe malfunction” to the nation’s highest court. According to “Variety,” the agency has asked the Supreme Court to review an earlier ruling against it. The FCC originally levied a 550-thousand-dollar fine against CBS because Jackson’s right breast was seen briefly at the end of her Super Bowl 38 halftime show. CBS won a lower-court appeal earlier this year, with the court deciding the FCC, quote, “arbitrarily and capriciously departed from its prior policy” which exempted what is describes as fleeting broadcast material from actionable violations of decency rules.
The Supreme Court is currently hearing an appeal brought by the FCC regarding a lower-court decision in favor of Fox. The network challenged the FCC’s 2004 change in its treatment of “fleeting expletives.” The FCC has asked the Supreme Court to wait on the CBS case until it makes a decision in the Fox case. I really think that this is just the people at the top trying to bring her down, and I dont understand what was the big dill you tell me?
Janet Jackson is in the hospital after suddenly falling ill. W&W Public Relations tells E! Online the singer was rushed to the hospital Monday after she got sick during a sound check for her concert in Montreal. No information has been released about Jackson’s condition but local doctors are monitoring her. Jackson reportedly hopes to reschedule the Montreal gig. Last Friday the singer cancelled an appearance in Detroit for her Rock Witchu road show citing, quote, “production constraints.”
