Snoop Dogg changed Name to Snoop Lion, Rapper Thinks He’s Bob Marley Reincarnated

Rapper Snoop Dogg has reportedly changed his name from Snoop Dog, to Snoop Lion. The Examiner reports the gangsta rapper-turned reggae man thinks he is Bob Marley reincarnated telling reporters Tuesday that after a “spiritual awakening,” it was clear he had to adopt a new style.
Lion even has even reportedly been meeting Marley Kids including Rohan Marley. According to sources, Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, Jr., had people lost for words after he mad the big announcement. This man must have been extra extra high.

Morehouse College President Robert M. Franklin Steps Down

 After five years of leading one of the nation’s top historical black colleges, President Robert M. Franklin  has decided to step down when his term ends on June 30, 2012.  The 57-year old Franklin came in as the school’s tenth president. ‘Red Tails’ New York Move Premiere: Cuba Gooding ,Terrence Howard Tia Mowry, Ne-Yo Marcus T. Polk and more

Last night was the movie premiere of World War II drama “Red Tails” in New York City which drew out many of the movie’s cast members and some of the real-life airmen depicted in the film.

The film which was inspired by actual events, “Red Tails” tells the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first group of African-American fighter pilots in the U.S. armed forces.

Move Producer George Lucas has a lot riding on “Red Tails” he has spent $58 million to make the film and $35 million more to distribute it.


Attendees at the premiere: Cuba Gooding, Jr., and Terrence Howard, happily posed for picturesbut got alittle to touchy feely. Director Spike Lee also came out to support.

Singer Hank Williams, Jr. has issued an apology today for a comment he made that compared President Obama to dictator Adolf Hitler. Williams’ comments caused his song to be pulled from the ESPN network where fans know him for his song Are You Ready for Some Football, which is the theme song for Monday night football. Maya Angelou Says Inscription On Dr. King Memorial Makes Him Look Arrogant

Famous poet, Maya Angelou had a mouthful to say about the inscription on the new statue of Martin Luther King, Jr. Designers of the memorial chose words from Martin Luther King’s speech that he gave at Ebenezer Baptist Church here in Atlanta back in 1968. The original quote from Dr. King states “If you want to say that I was a drum major, say that I was a drum major for justice. Say that I was a drum major for peace. I was a drum major for righteousness. And all of the other shallow things will not matter.” However, what actually went on the memorial is ” I was a drum major for justice, peace and righteousness”. Maya Angelou, who is one of the listed Council of Historians to select inscriptions for the statue, is not happy about this at all. She thinks that the inscription is misleading and wants it changed. (Undated) — Samuel L. Jackson is heading to Broadway. The movie actor, known for his share of commanding characters with colorful speech, will be tackling a master of speech in “The Mountaintop.” Jackson will mark his Broadway debut portraying civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the play about the last hours of Dr. King’s life. “The Mountaintop” is being described as a reimagining of the events that took place the night before Dr. King’s 1968 assassination after he delivered his famous “I’ve Been To The Mountaintop” speech. The play is expected to begin performances on September 22nd with an official opening date scheduled for October 13th.
