I had so much fun covering the second day of the Essence Music Festival which was all about community, connecting, and fun at New Orlean’s Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in the very heart of the city’s downtown district. People of all ages, gender race, and class made their way to New Orleans to celebrate the 23rd Essence Music Festival. Guests were thrilled to connect with their favorite brands and personalities. The Essence Music Festival Day activities have something for everyone. Walking into the convention center it felt like a world within the busiest party city in the country. Guests were able to partake in activities that ranged from beauty services, edutainment from iconic personalities, and entertainment ranging from live music to celebrity performances to just a good time to spend the Fourth of July weekend.

Lil Mo, Jermaine Dupri, Brandon Hines, ATL LIVE {Video}

Last night, Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols’ ATL LIVE ON THE PARK hosted by Kenny Burns ended their second season with an evening of powerhouse performances. R&B singer Lil Mo’ headlined the show, singing several favorites (“Superwoman,” “4Ever”) as well as new tracks from her independent album “P.S. I Love Me”.I this was my first time ever seeing and hearing Lil Mo and I have to tell yall she killed it. Durning the show she talked about how much she loved Heavy D and showed us although she’s been in the game for over 10 years she still got it.

Here’s videos of her speaking on Heavy D – – P.S. she is one of those celebs that love her fans…

After the show I got to catch up with Mr Hines who I am a big fan of  leaving with the lovely Dondria…

Def Jam artist Luke James wowed the crowd with a stunning voice and heartfelt performance of his single “I Want You.” 90’s R&B group Soul4Real paid a musical tribute to their late mentor and producer Heavy D, while So So Def/Epic newcomer Brandon Hines –introduced by Jermaine Dupri – gave the crowd a taste of his Marvin Gaye-like vocals.

Additional attendees included, Dave Hollister, Chaka Zulu, Roger Bobb, Demetria McKinney, Devyne Stephens, Ronnie Devoe, Peter Thomas and many more. Here are all the pic’s and videos. READ MORE
