VIDEO : Kobe Bryant Tribute at 2020 NBA All-Star Game

The 2020 NBA All-Star Game kicked off Sunday night in Chicago with Magic Johnson remembering former commissioner David Stern and former star player Kobe Bryant, who both recently lost their lives.

Johnson said Stern “saved my life, and the lives of millions of people” when Stern allowed him to play the 1992 All-Star Game in Orlando after Johnson announced he was HIV positive.

After Johnson gave his moving tribute to Stern and then Bryant, Chicago native Jennifer Hudson entered the stage at the United Center. Hudson, who is an Oscar-winning singer and actress, sang a stirring rendition of “For All We Know (We May Meet Again)” while images of Kobe Bryant were shown in the background. READ MORE

EXCLUSIVE: Ebony Power 100

As we near the close of 2013, Ebony announced it’s POWER 100 list.  Business, pop-culture, education, politics, health and sciences, religion, spirituality and sports comprise the usual categories for honorees, but this year community crusaders were honored as well.  There was even room for future leaders at this amazing event.  The event was hosted by Nick Cannon at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

We were on hand for the red carpet arrivals.  It was a who’s who of celebrities, moguls and even a few kids.  There were some amazing photos.  My favorite would have to be Berry Gordy with the cast of Motown the Musical.
