It looks like the self-proclaimed “best rapper alive” is taking a break from rap. Lil Wayne said in a recent phone interview with DJ Drama on Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 that his music is taking a “back seat to skating.” Wayne explains that the sport has gone from a hobby to a lifestyle for him, and if he wants to be fully committed to skating, he says needs to “live that lifestyle.” The emcee goes on to say he feels it’s time for a break from the rap game. And he says his fans deserve a “lil’ no Wayne” time as well. He notes that he’s “still on everybody’s song” and his Young Money artists “are doing awesome,” but the fans “deserve some peace” from him. That “peace” won’t come this month.

There were rumors earlier this year about Drake and Lil Wayne doing an album together but now Drake confirms they will no longer be doing the LP.  Even though the two said they had their album in works even before Jay and Kanye did ‘Watch The Throne’, they now are saying no to the collaboration due to Jay’s and Kanye’s recent project.
