Ne-Yo To Release A Mixtape

R&B stars know what it takes to stay in the game: release a mixtape. Ne-Yo now joins the list with Chris Brown and The Dream for must have mixtapes. I have a feeling that Ne-Yo’s mixtape is going to be something a tad bit different thought. Earlier today, he revealed that his mixtape would be hosted by funny man Kevin Hart. I wonder if he’s going to release a parody type of mixtape or is it going to be similar to the music that we know and love him for? Nonetheless, he said that this mixtape is just something to hold us over until his album comes out. This is definitely the way to go it seems in 2011. Don’t keep your fans! Release a mixtape! The Dream wasn’t just talking out the side of his neck the other day when he told fans on twitter that he was going to release a free LP. Today he released the cover art for his mixtape Terius Nash EST. 1977. READ MORE

Earlier this week, we listened to Wayne’s Marvin’s Room remix and now this past Wednesday he’s dropped his new mixtape Sorry 4 The Wait. If you haven’t already copped it already we’ve got it for you here. Lil Wayne raps over popular song beats such as My Last, Racks, Sure Thing and even Adele’s Rolling In The Deep. The famous sound of the flicking of a lighter can be heard on the mixtape along with features of rappers Gudda Gudda and Lil B. The mixtape is a gift for fans due to album pushbacks and he makes that clear through his saying of “sorry for the wait” all through the mixtape. What’s your opinion on the new mixtape? Weezy fans are you happy he finally gave you something to listen to while he continues to work on Tha Carter IV? Will you be copping Tha Carter IV August 29th?

Off of their collaborative mixtape “Ferrari Boyz” the newly free Gucci Mane and the soon to be retired Waka Flocka have released a video for their song “Hottest Rapper”.  The video was shot in Atlanta and is filmed primarily in what looks to be a studio. Throughout the whole video groupie love is shown. They even did some free advertising for places like Atlanta’s well known strip club Magic City. You’ve gotta admire work ethic like Gucci’s. What do you think of the video?

I recently got the chance to kick it with the homies Ali, Quez, and Strap and got some EXCLUSIVE info. They talked about the future of Travis Porter, including their plans for a late summer release of their album. Ali also told FreddyO.com exclusively that a mixtape with 9-10 songs could be out later this summer before that album drops. They have recorded thousands of songs that the public doesn’t even know about yet. The group also talked about their BET Awards nomination for Best Group. FreddyO.com is the ONLY site on the web with this news so be sure to check this video out!

Is Vogue Magazine Hosting Mixtapes Now?

Is Vogue really ready for a mixtape run?  ‘Cause I can definitely see a Vogue Heavy in the Streets Mixtape hosted by DJ Scream & Isaac Mizrahi.  It could be the Target Edition.  You know with the gunshots in background and the HOODRICHB*TCH tag line.  Or maybe even a Vogue GANGSTA GRILLZ Mixtape with Young Jeezy hosted by Marc Jacobs.  Talk about a comeback!!  That would put Trap or Die 2 to shame!  I wonder if Last Train To Paris Prelude Mixtape will be on the front page of Livemixtapes?  Maybe even a mixtape trailer on WSHH.

I must extend a SUPER SHOUT OUT TO DIDDY, because he’s the ONLY person that could have pulled off an official “Vogue Mixtape” with drops from people that have probably never heard a real one.    Make sure you check out the Last Train to Paris Prelude/Mixtape hosted by Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger, Zac Posen & Isaac Mizhari.  And I can’t forget…I wanna give a big shout out…to my home girl Anna Wintour & my big bruh Andre Leon Talley! (In my DJ Drama voice)
