The highly-successful Michael Jackson film “This Is It” is on its way to MTV. Earlier this week, MTV Networks acquired the exclusive United States television rights to air the film. “This Is It” will be made available to MTV starting in 2011, and will run until 2017. The deal includes all of the channels under MTV’s watch, including Vh1, Palladia and Vh1 Classic. The deal also extends to Viacom’s BET Networks, including the new Centric channel. Van Toffer, President of the MTV Networks Music Group, remarks, quote, “Michael Jackson has always been inextricably tied to our viewers as they witnessed his evolution from a talented performer to a global icon who redefined music. Now, with this film, we can help give his fans a chance to see his final performance.” Channels and premiere dates for “This Is It” will be announced at a later date.
“This Is It” opened on October 28th. The film follows Michael Jackson as he prepared for his 50-show run at London’s O2 Arena. The film claimed the number one spot at the box office in its first weekend, and has gone on to make more than 220-million-dollars worldwide.

Jay-Z has yet another title to add to his trophy case which I have to say he should get the to award cause he has put in work but the rest of them and their number placement is some bull. MTV has been counting down its list of the best rappers in the hip-hop game, and on Monday they named Jay-Z number one. MTV’s crew of hip-hop writers based their countdown on an artist’s current success, not their career achievements. They also factored in criteria like rhyme skill, sales, airplay and endorsements. Jay-Z has been at the top of the rap game for the past few months, thanks to his latest album, “The Blueprint Three.” The record dropped on September 8th, and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart after selling 476-thousand copies in its first week out. “The Blueprint Three” has also spawned the hit singles “D.O.A.,” “Run This Town,” and “Empire State of Mind.”

MTV’s Shaheem Reid discussed “Hov’s” greatness writing, quote, “Jay-Z continues to add luster to his legacy with time-transcending music, multiple successful business ventures and his dominant influence over the game.” Following Jay-Z on MTV’s list is New Orleans emcee Lil Wayne. Up and coming Canadian rap star Drake was named number three, while controversial rap star Kanye West checks in at number four. Miami emcee Rick Ross rounds out the list’s top five. Where the hell is Tip, and Luda why are they not either 2 ,3, and 4, that’s some bull… Not trying to hate on drake but why the hell did they put him so high on the list, what the hell has he really done….. Looks like this list and MTV is on some bull….

Here is MTV’s list of the top ten emcees in the rap game:

1. Jay-Z

2. Lil Wayne

3. Drake

4. Kanye West

5. Rick Ross

6. Gucci Mane

7. Young Jeezy

8. Fabolous

9. 50 Cent

10. Raekwon

Every week I find out that there is a new dancing tv show on air, but really does the world really buy into all this dancing realality tv, or is it that there is just so much of it that we have nothing else to watch?????

I use to be a big fan of mtv, vh1 and bet, and love most of there programs, but the last 4 years I have found my-self watching less and less because they have been putting so many dancing shows and less videos less real world, less quality programing and just put up things that are quick to do, that cause for little editing…. but it could be that i am just getting old as hell …. lol … Do you like it and what do you think?
p.s. tonight the new session of dancing with the stars comes on abc
