As Libyans in the United States cheered the death of Moammar Gadhafi, President Barack Obama on Thursday called the fate of the former Libyan leader both the end of a “long and painful chapter for the people of Libya” and the hallmark of a successful U.S. foreign policy. This afternoon, President Obama signed into law the debt compromise bill that was passed by bipartisan majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate today. The bill will raise the debt-ceiling until after the next election and will reduce the federal deficit by $2.1 trillion dollars over 10 years. The bill avoids the possibility of the American government defaulting on it’s debt obligations for previously approved legislation and creates a special committee that will recommend deficit reduction in the form of spending cuts and revenue. Both houses will also vote on a balanced budget amendment that needs two-thirds of both houses to pass, plus ratification by three-fourths of the states. Read More »
President Barack Obama is alive and well despite recent tweets from FoxNews.com’s political news feed. On Monday, FoxNewsPolitics sent out a series of tweets claiming that the President had been shot and killed while campaigning in Iowa. Now if you saw the tweets like me you were lost for words, but soon after we found out what the real deal was and that it was all a lie.
I found out from StraightFromTheA Fox News has since issued a statement saying that they were victimized by hackers, and are trying to determine who is responsible for spreading such “malicious” and “false” information. Read More »
