Today the internet was going crazy over the release of early footage from Oprah’s biggest show tapping ever, the LAST ONE! Oprah and her team quickly went to the Internet this morning schowering for the early footage that was not to be released to YouTube and other sites. Amongst the footage released was speeches and most of all the 1st ever performance of Beyonce’s Girls Run the World. Beyonce’s team quickly forced YouTube to pull any content down. More than 13,000 fans came out last night to the United Center in Chicago last night for the final farewell taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show. For 25 years Oprah has been a staple in daytime television so it was only fitting that she went out with a star studded finale. Among the list of celebrities to show up was Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Beyonce, Halle Berry, Queen Latifah, Katie Holmes, Dakota Fanning, Michael Jordan and Diane Sawyer. Although only 5 months into the OWN launch, Oprah Winfrey says she would haveÂ done itÂ differently if she had it to do all over again. Recently we reported that Christina Norman was dismissed as CEO of the network.
When asked by Entertainment Weekly if she regrets kicking off her network while still airing her talk show (which ends this month after 25 years), Winfrey says, â€œIâ€™ve thought maybe it would have been better to wait until this completely ended and then literally use [Oprah] as a launch pad.
It’s no secret that Oprah rules the world. So you kinda expect that she would go out with a bang when she decided to end her talk show. The final episode scheduled to air May 25, 2011 will be one for the books. It’s reported that a 30 second slot on Oprah’s finale show will cost 1 million dollars. What yall think, is it worth it to by a slot?
Oprah Winfrey will have to try and tackle football star Michael Vick another day. TMZ.com is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has pulled out of his interview with the TV mogul set for later this month. Vick explains, quote, “After careful consideration, I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview scheduled for February 22nd.” Vick goes on to say that he “admires” and “respects” Oprah and hopes he can sit down with her sometime in the future.
Michael Vick’s Oprah interview would have been his first major interview since being released from prison in 2009. He had been convicted of running a dog-fighting ring, and began serving time in 2007.
