There’s no dividing this unstoppable trio. Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Beyonce take the lead in nominations at the upcoming BET Awards. The Atlanta Journal Constitution writes:
Jay-Z’s tribute song to his newborn daughter wasn’t a spur of the moment idea. Hip-hop producer Pharrell Williams explains to MTV News that he and Jay had worked on “Glory” before Blue Ivy Carter’s birth. Pharrell says “Glory” is their version of Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely,” stating that they were just trying to “capture a moment in time.” Pharrell adds that he also recorded a song following the birth of his child, but kept it under wraps because he’s “more quiet and private” about his life than Jay-Z and Beyonce.
Jay-Z released “Glory” shortly after his daughter’s birth on January 7th. The track featured a clip of Blue Ivy crying, thus making her the youngest person to ever appear on a Billboard chart when “Glory” opened at number 74 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs list.
In other news The luxury automobile featured in Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Otis” video is being sold for a good cause. AllHipHop.com is reporting that the 2004 Maybach 57 featured in the clip will be auctioned off by Phillips de Pury & Company on March 8th. The vehicle is estimated to be worth between 100 and 150-thousand dollars. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Save the Children foundation.Â
Fans can check out Jay and Kanye’s Maybach before it’s sold. Originally it was a $350,000 car, but we’ll have to see what this one goes for. The car is currently on display at 450 Park Avenue in New York City Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Wow, looks like the Queen B is back and going hard. Lil Kim recently featured at Melbourne’s Winterbeatz Festival decided to drop a few rhymes over ‘Otis’ and pulls it off quite well. Going into ‘It’s all about the Benjamins,’ she keeps the rhyme goin over the ‘Otis’ track. I gotta say, this is the best I’ve heard Kim in awhile, even if it is an old song on a new track. Lil Kim is a classic, but will it be enough to take the throne from some current artists…hmmm, like Nicki Minaj? I’m still waiting for new stuff to drop from Kim…I’m not satisfied with that mixtape.
Jay-Z and Kanye are showing off their humanitarian side with the auctioning of the Maybach that was used in the newly released video for their song Otis. All of the proceeds from the tricked out Maybach will go towards aiding the East Africa drought. This information was brought to the public through the a tweet from Def Jam Records Read More »

Fans will also be able to catch an encore airing at 11:00 p.m. Eastern on MTV2.
“Otis” is featured on Jay-Z and Kanye’s new album, “Watch The Throne.” The record was released exclusively at iTunes on Monday, and will drop at other digital retailers and record stores on Friday.
“Watch The Throne” is expected to make a big impression when it arrives on the Billboard charts next week. Industry insiders are projecting that the album will sell more than 500-thousand copies during its first week out. Is it me or does Jay-Z who is 41 seem to be getting younger as the years go by ?
Someone of my black Female friends are kind of upset saying “Hove and Ya, were the back girls at” ???? I told her its bigger than a back girl white girl thing… LOL watch the video and tell me what you think?
I guess Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Otis is about to be the new song that everyone remixes. We told you the other day about Game remixing the song and making it into a diss track, this time Styles P and Jadakiss remix the song. The two lyricists show that they still have it without taking any cheap shots at anybody on the track. Take a listen here:
